As you know, we love bubblegum pink lips right now. But one of our readers wanted to know: Does this look work for brown skin?
We got right on the case and asked Sara, a Sephora Pro Beauty Team member, how to pull off pink lips:
“All skin types can pull off the Barbie bubblegum pink lips! For darker skin, you want to apply a dark pink lipstick, and then finish it off with a brighter pink gloss. Or, do the opposite: apply a lighter shade lipstick and finish with a dark but bright-toned gloss. It’s all about even tones.
Try Funny Face or Kiss by Nars, YSL Golden Berry, or MAKE UP FOR EVER’s full color collection. Look for bright shades in pink, orange and red - they’re great for darker skin tones.”
Inspired by a pumpkin head and a fragrance launch, fellow Sephoran Mia Rasor and I dressed up as Harajuku Girls this Halloween.
It’s possible to create over 30,000 looks with Sephora’s new Ultimate Blockbuster Palette. We wanted in on all that pretty, so this month, 30 Sephora staffers are giving themselves makeovers using the palette. How whoa! will they go?
Model: Theresa Lee, Sephora.com
Theresa smudged dark gray around her eyes, then topped the outer edge of her lids with the deep forest green mixed with the bright chartreuse shadow.
She gave her cheeks just a hint of color with the brighter pink blush, then finished off with a soft matte lip color in baby pink. Result? Gorgeous.
It’s 30 looks in 30 days with Sephora’s Ultimate Blockbuster Palette! Stick around: There’s a new look tomorrow!

Our pretty peeps down the street at Benefit just sent us a scary-good Halloween surprise. They dressed up as their favorite products and went for a photo shoot at a Sephora store–then sent us the amazing pictures of it! We just had to share. Enjoy the photos and have a boo-tiful Halloween, all!

P.S. Can you name all the products represented and which is your favorite???
C’est moi! Jackie Lantern here with a little tip before I leave all you beauty-full ladies (don’t cry your seeds out - I’ll be back next October!)
Still haunting around for a Halloween costume? Do as I do and be inspired by your makeup bag!
Like me: My current fave scent is Music from Harajuku Lovers - so I turned the spritz into my costume. Can you see the resemblance?
Have beauty-full Halloween - just don’t make like a pumpkin and do anything rotten.
Halloween is tomorrow and that’s a problem because 1) You still don’t have a costume, and 2) You’re not into yesterday’s idea about going as a makeup artist.
How about this: Go as a runway model.
You can get specific and mod with our posts featuring Spring 2009 runway looks from New York and L.A. We included the products you need to copy the looks; all you have to do is pick the show.
